About Us

Previously known as Red Mud Review, The 601 is a student-run literary journal published by Austin Peay State University. In January 2020, we made a big decision to redesign our journal, and with our new look, comes a new mission. We strive to consistently and unequivocally promote diversity and creative expression in any form, and we always emphasize constant growth, learning, and improvement. Therefore, both emerging and established writers are welcome, but those who are unafraid to break boundaries and take risks will stand out. We accept many different kinds of work, but you can find more specific guidelines here. The Spring 2021 issue is accepting submissions through February 15, 2020.
